Resolutions (August Edition)

As per every year, August is time for Resolutions! Here is a comparison from last year:

Now to move on the Resolutions of being 25!

OMG I'M GOING TO BE 25 IN 3 DAYS! To be honest, it doesn't really scare me that I'm half way to 30. I've come pretty far since then. I've been through a lot and I've experienced a lot of life. I'm thankful for what I have lived thus far:

1. I've had the most amazing influential grandmother til the age of 16. I wish I could have had her longer to guide me into adult life. But even though she's been gone, she's always been around for me.

2. I got to be a ballerina for 18 years! Who gets to say that? Not just anyone.

3. I've made the most amazing friends that I call family.

4. I've moved around and got to visit amazing places that's shaped my life as it is today.

5. I've was FINALLY diagnosed with my illness! Sounds crazy to be happy about that, but it's nice knowing rather than guessing.

6. I've developed a very sophisticated taste for music...I like to thank many people for that...YOU know you are! ;)

7. I got to go to college for art. It's cool but not needed.

8. And well, I'm still alive. Which is good.

Now to resolutions:

In the past it's been all about paying off loans and medical bills, traveling and careers. They were good things to wanted to accomplish. But I think this year it'll be different. I need a bit self  therapy. Though looking back at last year, I've paid all my medical bills off! WOOOO!!! I've dabbled myself back into a career regarding art. I'm gonna stay here from now on, in the artsy world. And I have finally moved out of PA! To an unforeseen state, but it's New York STATE! How can I complain?

1. Self Love
This means many things. No more being mean to myself. Working on the self esteem and happiness with in myself. I'm even going to create a memory jar to put a note of confidence in each day. I have to write how I'm feeling each day and place it into that jar. And by next year I can open it and see how well I've done.

2. Engage
Engaging in reading more often. Engaging in music. Engaging in the world around me. No more being attached to a phone or technology. (I've failed to let that habit get to me in the last few years. And I've never been that kind of person before). Here's to getting back to me.

3. Truth
As in the Moulin Rouge, uphold truth. And out of truth comes, beauty, freedom and love. Being true to oneself, to another and life. If there is truth then there will be happiness in oneself.

Now for the party to begin!

Resolutions (August Edition)

Resolutions are usually associated with the New Year, but for my friends and I, we have come to use July as our resolution time. It's been the only time we are able to get together every year and it's some thing we started back one summer around a campfire. What 3 things will we want to work on by the time we see each other again?
This year was no different, though I've struggled to come to my resolutions. I think it's because so much has changed in the last year. I don't know what anything is ever going to be like. I'm pretty sure I haven't lived in the same place since I left for college. Switching dorms or apartments. It's all so uncertain and I find myself wanting to just settle down now. My body is tired and moving around doesn't help it. Having a home that would be accessible in all ways to me would be nice; a place to call my haven.
There are many things that need to be settled between now and then obviously, like a job and finances. But that's what I want, a path. One I can call my own.
I have made the decision to be done with school. I think it's been enough and the loans are higher than I want them. I've been paying off my hospital bills and what not since before I got my Medical Assistance. And they are almost gone!
1. Pay off medical bills/credit cards used for those expenses
That is the top most important resolution! Then I can start working on my student loans once again. (not that I'm excited) But I can start putting money aside for better things; like a home and perhaps a new car.
2.  Make career advancements
Here I am, almost 25 and I'm finally in a field that I want to be, but not exactly the niche, per say. Getting to that point is the second most important part. I want to work for an art gallery or museum where I can be a part of the art world and be a librarian. I want to keep track of the most important arts of the world and make sure their history lives on! Combining my bachelors in art and my years in library science, is the perfect start....or at least it seems like it.
3. Make plans to move out of state
ahhh, Pennsylvania. It's been real, but I have to say we are through. I can't deal with your PMS weather changes, crappy roads, angry/rude people, or lack of culture. I'm not sorry. Sincerely, me.
I have plans to move once again, much later though. Maybe in two years or so. This is going to be a BIG move. And hopefully permanent. I don't feel in sync here with Pennsylvania. It's not wild enough for me nor cultured enough.
So that's what I came up with and hopefully, we'll see where I am next year!
