Gathered New York Travels Pre-Senior Year

Now, I've been to New York City many times and each time I go it seems to get better and better. But the first time will always be the most prominent. Looking back, I can see how different I was and how much I've grown. From a lost high schooler, to a woman with eyes for adventure. I have a heart that will won't rest anymore.

Below is are a series of photos from time in New York; from the age of 17 to the age of 20.

In high school, I had the opportunity to go a club trip to New York for an overnight trip. We traveled all of Manhattan from Battery Park to Central Park. The first day we took a trip to Chinatown, but I fell in love with Little Italy and it's markets and culture.

We also traveled over to Fulton Market and Seaport to see the ships. It reminded me of the first time I went to Rehoboth Beach when I was 13. The power of the sea never fails to make me feel like I'm at home.

Later that night, I also got to see my first Broadway show; Chicago. It was quite amazing to see. After years of being a dancer, it was wonderful to see such a wonderful show. It was a show that every dancer dreams of seeing. Plus, we had great seats on the opera floor. Though, I do prefer the Mezzanine.

The last day we were in New York we got a boat tour on the Hudson River and saw the Lady Liberty. Then we walked around Central Park before we went home.

Whilst we were in the park, we visited the Imagine memorial to dedicate our time to the great Lennon and the Beatles.

The next time I visited New York it wasn't until my junior year of college. My friend Cristina and I went to go see Mamma Mia! I have to say it was just as good as the movie. I was so in love with the stage and scenery. So much BLUE! And the Winter Garden theater is beautiful inside, but not my favourite though. And we got seats in the Mezzanine!

Before the show we had some downtime. Our love for the Beatles had only led us to some awesome places. One, being a antique shop and the other being the Hard Rock Cafe dedicated to the Beatles.

George Harrison's guitar.

And the original doors of Abby Road Studios.

Finally, but not least, the amazing Ellen's Stardust Diner. We decided to just try it out because it looked cool and it was right near the theater. And boy, am I glad we did. The staff sings to you has they serve you. It was so loud and crazy, but so much fun. I recommend it to anyone who wants to liven up their evening in the city.

The next time I visited New York, it was to the Brooklyn Museum. It was my first official outing into the art world.

I might have spazzed out slightly because the Mark Morris Studio was there.

This one of my favourite rooms in the museum with the big mushrooms.

and some artwork that I was fan of.

Err...lunch break with the statues.

Then my favourite place to explore in any museum.

This wraps up my travels in New York before my senior year begins.
