Going to Atlanta was my first very big trip to another state; one that wasn't close or one that I was familiar with. It was also right after Christmas that I was going, so leaving my family the day after Christmas pulled a little on my heart strings. None-the-less, I was going.
The trip came up during my fraternity's meeting one night. Our group was having Nationals in Atlanta, GA and a group of my friends wanted to go. So, why not? It'll be the start of my travel journeys. I have to say it was one of the best decisions I made. However, it was odd seeing Christmas trees in Georgia, where it's warm.
It took us 12 hours to drive down from PA to GA; in a snowstorm none-the-less. I have that driving through Virginia was the hardest and the longest. I thought were never going to make it out. The first night we got there around midnight/1am. My friend Cristina and I decided to go frolic around the block and in the underground mall.
We found life-size camera. The mall was completely dead, but it didn't matter. We were surprised that it was open at all.
A weird thing about this trip was the hotel. We stayed at the Hyett Hotel, which in theory is architecturally pretty, but not functional. We had to travel to different parts of the hotel to get to certain floors. And there were only like 5 elevators to like *insert big number here*. The elevators were also super speedy which made me dizzy. Originally, we were assigned to the 22nd floor. Could you imagine going from the basement to the 22nd floor in a really speeding glass elevator? I was relieved when we moved down to the 5th floor, where we were actually staying.

The next day we did some sight seeing in downtown Atlanta and ate at Hard Rock. Atlanta is surprisingly a quite city compared to New York.We couldn't tell if it was because they had a state-shutdown because of the weird snowstorm they got or if was a genuinely a nice city.
Biggest shark aquarium in the world! I wish I could have gone in and seen it. I love aquariums and sea animals.
Finally, our last outing was the Centennial Olympic Park.

After our outings, it was time to head back upstate in another 12 hour car ride.
