Dia:

Going to Beacon, NY was a wonderful change of scenery. It's has the most beautiful town houses I've ever seen and it's gorgeous in the fall. This trip was around November of 2011 with my art society and adviser.

Dia: Beacon is an art foundation collection from the 1960’s to the present as well as special exhibitions, new commissions, and public and education programs.

As I mentioned above, Beacon is gorgeous in the fall. Since our group was basically split into pairs, my little sister, Angel and I hung out the whole day. Now Angel isn't my real sister, but my sister at heart. At out college, we have this Big Sis/Lil Sis program for incoming freshmen. They get paired with a 'big sister" or upperclassmen to be a guidance whilst they get settled into their first year of college.

One of me too!

Here is the two of us inside. Technically, we weren't allowed to take photos inside. We were sneaky and polite about what we took pictures of.

Finally, but not least I got to see Richard Serra's sculptures. I am a huge fan of his work. I love his use of metal materials and the atmosphere's he creates. It's haunting and mind clearing at the same time. His work left me feeling like there was nothing else in the world. Like nothing was going to stop me.The sculptures we saw you were able to go sit inside or lay inside. (we chose to lay) Similar to the photo below.
